Summary: There is potential for significant rainfall across southeast Georgia and along the Carolina coasts through Saturday morning which will likely result in areas of flooding.
Tropical Storm Debby is expected to move very slowly over Georgia and the Carolinas throughout the week leading to potentially historic heavy rainfall. Considerable flooding impacts are expected across southeast Georgia and along the Carolina coasts throughout the week. The SCDOT has requested an RDG deployment today at 9 locations in eastern SC. Three teams of two and one team of three are currently deploying the RDGs. The Tifton and Savannah Field Offices are preparing for high flow measurements, while other SAWSC offices are also preparing to assist as needed. Currently, no streamgages have been damaged or destroyed by the storm in the SAWSC. The USGS is interacting with SCEMD, NWS, USACE Charleston and Savannah Districts, and SCDOT.
