Summary: The focus of the flooding for the OTWSC continues to be in East Texas, the Houston, Austin, and Fort Worth offices still have crews out measuring high flows.
More precipitation is forecasted for portions of east Texas that have already been affected by flooding. Rain forecast now include portions of west Texas, central Texas, and the Eastern half of Oklahoma.
As of Friday morning (5/3) the Houston field unit has seven crews in the field making high flow measurements, field verifications and obtaining
high water marks. Most of their focus today is on the Trinity and San Jacinto River watersheds. They have measured at least 10 peaks of record
this week and will measure peak of record at Trinity River nr Goodrich, TX today.
Austin field unit has several crews out making high flow measurements again today. They have six sites in their area today that they intend to
measure and have sent a crew and equipment to Houston to assist Shane and his crews.
Fort Worth has crews out today on the southern end of the Trinity. Things are starting to recede for the Fort Worth office until the
forecasted rain hits over the next several days.
The other offices in the Oklahoma-Texas water science center that are not currently experiencing high flow conditions continue to monitor
their area and prepare crews due to the forecasted rain over the next several days.
