PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (OH) Minor flooding in Ohio

Date: Tue, 02 Apr 2024 14:12:57 EDT

Summary: An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen on saturated grounds in Ohio.

An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen on saturated grounds throughout central and western Ohio. The watersheds most affected are the Mad River, the Little Darby and the Mill Creek. Thus far most river gages are either in Action Stage or Minor Flooding (NWS terminology). One river gage is transmitting bad data due to the site being relocated due to bridge construction. Our plans are to address the site tomorrow. Three crews with a total of six people were out measuring high flows today, however since Ohio is in a Severe Weather Category 4 (Moderate Risk) today (I have never seen this for Ohio), all crews were told to work until 1400 hrs and then head back to the office. I expect to send crews out again tomorrow for additional high-water measurements. We have been in contact with the local cooperators, which include the City of Marysville and the Village of Minster.
