PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (MA RI) moderate to major flooding throughout MA/RI

Summary: A significant coastal storm is causing minor to major flooding in parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Rainfall of over 2 inches fell overnight on 01/10/2024 and with snowpack and temperatures over 50 deg. has resulted in flooding in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Six crews were deployed this morning (1/11/2024) in MA and RI for discharge measurements. Several gages throughout RI and central and southeastern MA have reached moderate to major flood stage (up to 1% recurrence interval).
