PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (DC DE MD) Response to storm event

Summary: A strong storm has caused minor to moderate flooding in Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia received a widespread 3-4 inches of precipitation (mixture of rain and snow), which caused minor to moderate flooding. Strong winds have also caused flooding along coastal areas.
The MD-DE-DC Water Science Center had a total of 16 crews respond to this event to measure streamflow and/or collect water-quality samples.
Field work is likely to continue through the week as a result of this event.

Field Response by office:
Baltimore, MD: 5 crews measuring streamflow, 4 crews collecting water-quality samples.
Dover, DE: 2 crews measuring streamflow, 1 crew collecting water-quality samples
Frostburg, MD: 4 crews measuring streamflow.
