PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (PA) Eastern and Central PA Flooding

Summary: Moderate to heavy rainfall causing flooding in eastern and central Pennsylvania for the basins of the Susquehanna and Delaware.

The PA WSC has multiple streamgages that are or will peak today. The Williamsport, and New Cumberland Offices all have scientists in the field collecting high flows or water quality. Bridgeville and Downingtown Field Office are on standby if further support is needed.

The breakdown per office is as follows:
Williamsport has 4 crews of 2 collecting higher flows 2 crews of 2 collecting water quality and sediment.
New Cumberland has 4 crews of 2 and 2 singles collecting higher flows and 2 crews of 2 collecting water quality and sediment.

It is only expected to have a few more field measurements collected tomorrow on the Susquehanna River.

Yesterday a total of 30 surface water sites were measured and multiple sediment and water quality samples were taken.
