PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (NJ) Flooding in Northern and Central New Jersey

Summary: The New Jersey Water Science Center deployed six teams measuring high-water in northern and central New Jersey as a result of a heavy precipitation event.

A costal storm delivered between 3 and 7 inches of rain across northeastern and central New Jersey. More than 10 gages exceed National Weather Service flood stage. The Saddle River reached major flood stage. Nineteen discharge measurements were made by the 6 field crews.

There are no plans for a high-water mark campaign at this time.
