PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (GA SC) Hurricane Idalia impacts along eastern South Carolina and Georgia

Summary: Heavy rains from Hurricane Idalia have led to rises on rivers across eastern South Carolina and Georgia.

The Columbia Office has four teams out today making high flow measurements in the Denmark, Orangeburg, and Florence areas. The Savannah Office has one crew out in the field today making flood measurements in the Sardis area. Crews from the Charleston and Savannah Offices will be out tomorrow and Saturday making additional measurements. 02135000 Little Pee Dee River at Galivants Ferry, SC is forecast to reach major flood stage, so crews are planning to make measurements there.

A floating gage in Savannah was damaged due to Idalia and is being rebuilt today.
