PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (TX) Tropical Storm Harold

Summary: Tropical storm Harold makes landfall in South Texas Tuesday morning.

Tropical Storm Harold has made landfall on Padre Island, Texas, and will bring heavy rains and tropical storm force winds over the next several hours. Current forecast track has it continuing to the West Northwest through Tuesday night taking the storm inland over South Texas and Northern Mexico.

It is doubtful that we will see significant river flooding. This will likely be a localized run off event. Rainfall amounts up to 3-5 inches are possible.

Currently none of our streamgages are experiencing flooding.

We will continue to monitor the storm and crews will respond as needed.

No streamgages have been damaged or destroyed.

A crew of 2 USGS staff are located in Goliad and can respond as needed.

Our Center has been in touch with West Gulf Coast River Forecast Center.
