Summary: Severe thunderstorms over the weekend resulted in moderate flooding in the upper reaches of the Flint River basin in Georgia.
Severe thunderstorms prompted deployment of 6 crews over a multi-county area to respond to moderate flooding in the upper reaches of the Flint River Basin in central Georgia. One crew was deployed to install a rapid deployment gage (RDG) in the Flint River due to a potential dam failure in upstream Heard Creek. The USGS responded to the event in coordination with NOAA/NWS.
