Summary: RDGs installed on Deer Creek and Tule River below Lake Success
Today, the data feed for the RDG at 360013118575201 Deer Creek at Road 272 was made available to the public. This gage is a temporary replacement to give the community of Porterville situational awareness until the normal gage is operational again. The normal gage, 11200800 Deer Creek nr Fountain Springs, was damaged by peak of record water levels on March 10, and the site will be inaccessible for an extended period.
A RDG was installed downstream at 11204900 Tule R below Lake Success, and the data is publicly available. This gage is a temporary replacement to give the community of Porterville situational awareness during high flows out of Lake Success. At this gage, a surface velocity radar is deployed in an attempt to compute discharge quicker if successful.
Data feeds for both stations are available on the National Water Dashboard and the Flood Event Viewer for the event called "2023 March Atmospheric Rivers Flood."
