PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (AZ) High flows in central and northern Arizona

Date: Wed, 22 Mar 2023 14:55:39 EDT

Summary: Heavy snowpack in northern Arizona and recent rain is producing flooding on the Verde and Salt Rivers, and some of their tributaries.

Crews from Glendale and Flagstaff are currently out measuring high flows at gages in Navajo, Coconino, Gila, and Maricopa counties. Reservoirs on these rivers are approaching maximum capacity, leading to dam releases that will travel through the Phoenix area.
