Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2023 12:58:54 EDT

Summary: Crews measuring high flows in the central coast and from LA to San Diego

Rain continues throughout much of the state today. High rainfall is predicted along parts of the central coast and the mountains from LA to San Diego. Many reservoirs are releasing high flows to allow room for more runoff. A total of 11 teams of 17 people are in the field today in response. Staff are measuring streamgages on the Santa Maria River used to quantify outflows from Twitchell Reservoir and on Coyote Creek to quantify outflows from Coyote Reservoir. Additional crews are deployed to stream gages in the Santa Ynez Basin, Salinas Basin, East Bay, San Jacinto Basin, as well as the Temecula, San Diego, East Bay, Palm Springs, and Orange County areas.
