PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (NV) Southern Nevada addresses high flows

Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2023 11:28:09 EDT

Summary: High flows in multiple basins in Southern NV

Two flood crews (5 people) are being deployed today to measure high flows on the Virgin River, Meadow Valley Wash, and Muddy River basins. Planning for direct measurements on the Virgin and Meadow Valley Wash gages today and tomorrow. We will be flagging for indirect measurements on all three basins in the coming weeks.

These flows are looking to be the peak of record at the upstream-most site on the Meadow Valley Wash, the highest flows seen on the Virgin since 2010, and the highest flows seen on the Muddy River since 2014.

The manned cableway at 09415000 was recently found vandalized and cannot be used to safely measure flows. With the exception of the damaged cableway, the network appears to be operating well.
