PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) Minor flooding in Northern and Central California

Summary: Storm causes minor flooding in parts of Northern and Central California

An atmospheric river brought rain and high winds to parts of northern and central California over the last 24 hours. 3-4 inches of precipitation was reported in parts of Humboldt County and across much of the Sierra foothills; and 4 to 5 inches across sections of Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Monterey Counties. Over 62,000 power outages were reported, with most of the outages in Monterey County.

At this time, one station on the Russian River is in flood stage, with the Salinas, Merced, Eel, and Cosumnes Rivers forecast to reach flood stage later today or early tomorrow.

Today, 11 crews consisting of 21 staff are measuring streamflow at select gages in the affected areas.
