PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IL MO) High Water Response in Southern and Central parts of Missouri and Illinois

Summary: Central Midwest WSC responding to high water in parts of Southern and Central Missouri and Illinois. Situation will be monitored over the weekend.

Five crews from the Central Midwest Water Science Center are responding to High Water today in the Southern and Central parts of Missouri and Illinois. NWS AHPS forecasts several locations to be in minor to moderate flood levels over the weekend and into the early part of next week. Crews will be assessing the situation through the weekend and into next week and will be responding as needed to help fill rating gaps and/or obtain any potential peaks.

Additionally, it is expected that a crew will be assembled to sample Water Quality at Big Muddy River at RTE 127 at Murphysboro, IL (05599490) and Little Wabash River at Carmi, IL (03381500) over the weekend.
