PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (MO) Missouri Flood Response -Western and Central MO

Summary: USGS Central Midwest Water Science Center Responding to flood conditions in western and central Missouri.

The Central Midwest WSC has 5 crews deployed from the Rolla, MO and Lee's Summit, MO offices to measure high water. Planned response for today includes measurements on the Niangua River, Cedar Creek, Sac River, Moreau River, Little Osage River, Osage River, and Big Creek.

One crew from Olivette is providing a courtesy measurement to NWS on the Bourbeuse River near Spring Bluff, MO to verify conditions at the USACE monitored location. This measurement will be impactful to the NWS flood forecast for Union, MO.

Field crews will be relaying information to NWS via NWSchat or by phone.

Forecasts and river responses to precip are being monitored to determine possible response over the weekend.
