Summary: Minor flooding is occurring in western and southern tier areas
of New York.
Minor flooding is occurring in western and southern tier areas
of New York as a result of 1.5-2.5 inches of rain during the past
24 hours. Wet antecedent condition from 3-6 inches of rain the
past week contributed to the flooding.
About 10 USGS streamgages in the Genesee, Chemung, Cohocton, and
Irondequoit River basins reached NWS Flood Stage. Three USGS crews
(six personnel) from the Cortland, NY office are making high-flow
discharge measurements today for rating calibration and have repaired
one USGS gage.
