PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) CAWSC responds to minor flooding north of San Francisco

Summary: heavy rainfall from atmospheric river causing high flows just north of San Francisco

This morning, the Ukiah Field Office sent 2 crews to measure high flows in Lake, Mendocino, and Sonoma Counties, primarily tributaries to the Russian River. The CNRFC is reporting moderate to minor flooding at several locations in and around the City of Santa Rosa. These areas received 4 to 6 inches of rain in the last 12 hours, with 4 to 5 inches predicted over the next 24 hours.
The Santa Cruz and Redding Field Offices are watching their field areas due to ongoing high rainfall with more predicted over the next 24 hours. They are likely to deploy crews later today or tomorrow, depending on conditions.
