Summary: Crews from the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center respond to minor flooding in Maryland and Washington DC.
In response to overnight and morning precipitation (2 to 4+ inches) from a slow moving storm system, field crews from the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center are currently deployed to measure flows and collect water-quality samples. Four crews from the Frostburg Field Office are responding in Central Maryland, particularly in Frederick and Montgomery Counties, and three crews from the Baltimore Office are deployed around the Baltimore-DC Metro area to measure flows. Currently several sites, including Monocacy at Bridgeport, MD (USGS 01639000), Big Pipe at Bruceville, MD (USGS 01639500), Patuxent River near Unity, MD (01591000), Gunpowder Falls At Glencoe, MD (USGS 01582500),
and Rock Creek at Sherrill Drive (Washington D.C.) are in Minor Flood Stage (NWS designation). In addition, three crews from the Baltimore Office are deployed in the Baltimore-DC Metro area to collect water-quality samples.
