PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (GA NC) South Atlantic Water Science Center Responding to the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred

Summary: South Atlantic Water Science Center crews are responding to flooding caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred.

Over 5 inches of rain fell in localized areas as remnants of Tropical Storm Fred moved through North Georgia and Western North Carolina. Crews from Asheville, Charlotte, and Norcross have been out making measurements, flagging high-water marks for indirect measurements, and making repairs.

Two streamgages (03441000 and 03456500) has reached a peak of record gage height (105 and 36 years respectively) and exceeded the rating.

One streamgage (0344894205) has been destroyed and will be replaced as soon as possible.

One streamgage (0344878100) was damaged but has been repaired.
