Summary: Minor flooding (NWS terminology) is occurring in Ohio
A slow moving quasi-stationary front is draped across Ohio as of this morning (7/17/21). Some areas of north central Ohio received 1 to 2 inches of rain last night over somewhat saturated soils.
No gages are experiencing peaks of record, however we have installed some new river gages in June and we felt it was a good opportunity to hit one of these new sites. Drainage basins most affected are the upper Scioto River and the Sandusky River.
One crew will measure high flows in the Sandusky River basin then move on to the Scioto River at Kenton, Ohio.
Measurements will be input in NWSChat and I will notify the cooperator later this morning of our response to the higher flows.
