PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (TN) Nashville, TN Area Flooding

Summary: 7 to 9 inches of rain in the Nashville, TN, area lead to flooding in several basins in central Tennessee.

Conditions: From NWS Nashville 'Our latest AWIPS MRMS 24 hour radar rainfall total estimates show 7" to 9+" of rain fell in a swath across Linden, Centerville, Brentwood, southern Nashville, Mount Juliet, Lebanon, Carthage, and Gainesboro'. These rains caused flooding in central Tennessee basins.

Status of gages: So far, 2 stations are missing stage data;
03418000 ROARING RIVER NEAR HILHAM, TN (still transmitting)
03423000 FALLING WATER RIVER NEAR COOKEVILLE, TN (last transmission at 3 am)

Priority gages for direct measurements today are newer gages needing rating extensions, particularly several in the Cumberland Basin.

USGS Response:
LMG WSC will have 2 crews in the area today with more crews, including a crew flagging for indirect measurements, on 3/29 and following.
