Summary: Minor to Moderate Flooding impacting western Maryland
Event Information:
Recent rainfall of 1.5 to 2 inches, coupled with a deep snow pack and warming temperatures have led to the elevated flow conditions in western Maryland. Stations within the Youghiogheny and Potomac River Watersheds are experiencing most of the impact at this time.
A total of 2 crews (5 staff total) from the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center, Frostburg Field Office are out making high flow discharge measurements in Garrett, Allegany and Washington Counties. Additional mainstem Potomac River discharge measurements are planned over the next several days.
All monitoring stations are currently operational with no damage sustained.
