Summary: Atmospheric River event with associated intense rain and high freezing levels in Western Oregon Tuesday- Wednesday.
Moderate flooding is forecasted for stream basins in NW Oregon with the highest stream flows on the coastal rivers. Peaks will mostly occur today (Jan 13) with a relatively fast recession forecast. Currently, 14 stream gages are at or above minor flood stage. Field crews will be performing discharge measurements at priority stream gages throughout this event and monitoring burn areas for sampling and other work as needed.
One impactful landslide has been reported in eastern Multnomah county with the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 currently closed.
4 stream gages are currently not reporting due to problems with phone lines at the main office and our loggernet system.
