Summary: Minor to moderate flooding is occurring in streams and rivers throughout North Carolina today.
Minor to major flooding is occurring throughout North Carolina. The raingage network have recorded 2 to 7 inches over the past 24 hours due to Tropical Storm Eta interacting with an approaching cold front.
The USGS has deployed eight crews to make discharge measurements throughout the stae. Additional measurements will be made tomorrow and possibly this weekend. Seven streamgages currently are experiencing major flooding, located mostly in the Neuse River Basin, and eleven gages are experiencing moderate flood stage.
