Summary: USGS has crews in the field measuring minor to moderate flooding at streams and rivers in West-Central Florida today.
Tropical Storm Eta made landfall near Cedar Key, FL Thursday morning, but also dumped rainfall all along the peninsula in the previous days as it approached. Areas in West-Central Florida received 5 to 9 inches of rain on Wednesday which is causing some minor to moderate flooding in the area.
USGS has deployed field crews today to perform dishcarge measurements at 11 gages in Hillsborough, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. Measurements will continue tomorrow at larger rivers that don't crest as quickly.
