Summary: Staff from the South Atlantic Water Science Center are out today measuring high flows due to Hurricane Isaias.
Overnight Hurricane Isaias passed over Eastern North and South Carolina, producing close to 5 inches of rain in some areas. Moderate to minor flooding is expected later this week in the Neuse and Cape Fear River basins from this event. South Atlantic Water Science Center field crews will be out measuring high flows and confirming peaks throughout the week. There are currently 9 field personnel from the Charleston, SC and Raleigh, NC field offices out today.
Crews will also be out in the coming days to retrieve wave and storm-tide sensors along the North and South Carolina coasts. These sensors were deployed ahead of the storm to measure potential storm-surge and coastal flooding.
