PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) Late Season Storm, Southern California

Date: Mon, 13 Apr 2020 11:41:25 EDT

Summary: Departing Storm brought widepsread moderate flooding to Southern California

The late season cut-off low pressure storm system stalled out over Southern California on Friday dumping copious amounts of precipitation from Santa Barbara south to the Mexican Border.
Some impressive amounts of rainfall recorded at various locations collected by the NWS for April 10 are listed:

Lytle Creek 10.10 inches
Palomar Observatory 7.10 inches
Encinitas 7.40
San Diego International 3.50
Poway 6.00
Fashion Valley 4.60 (USGS 11023000)

Crews from Santa Maria, Redlands and our Poway Field offices made 25 flood measurements during this period while practicing social distancing.
There was some small damage to a couple of gages but nothing major and most gages performed well during this period. Not sure at this time if any indirects are needed. The low is slowly moving east and we are looking forward to some sunny weather mid week.
