Summary: Continued response to flooding in the Pearl River Basin in Mississippi.
Though the rainfall has ceased in the area, the Pearl River at Jackson, MS, is predicted by the National Weather Service to rise until approximately 2 feet above NWS major flood stage Sunday or Monday.

USGS crews will be measuring the Pearl River twice daily through the holiday weekend to provide the needed information.
Two additional crews from the USGS LMGWSC Jackson, MS office will measure flooding conditions at Big Black River at Bovina, MS, on Sunday.
USGS LMGWSC Jackson, MS office is working closely with the National Weather Service Jackson office, Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center, Pearl River Valley Water Supply District, US Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg office, Hinds County EMA and City of Jackson, MS providing discharge measurement information on the Pearl River to assist local agencies in the management of flood conditions.
