PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (VA WV) VA-WV WSC responding to flooding

Summary: VA-WV WSC is responding to moderated flooding in western VA and southern WVA.
Crews from the VA-WV WSC responded to moderate flooding resulting from 3-3.5 inches of rainfall in western VA and southern WVA. 27 streamgages are still in flood stage, with most cresting overnight. Eight field crews were out yesterday collecting discharge and water quality data. A total of 26 discharge measurements were made at 21 sites. Most of the streams reached minor flood levels, with some reaching moderate flooding. Additional response is expected again today.
