Summary: Heavy rain over southeastern Kentucky to bring moderate to major flooding over the next 24 hours.
Over 6” of rain has fallen across southeastern Kentucky within the past 48 hours. Moderate to major flood conditions are forecast for portions of the Upper Cumberland River Basin.
The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Water Science Center, Williamsburg office, will have 2 crews (4 people) out today making discharge measurements in the southeast portion of the state which are expected to crest in the next 24 hours. Flood response is expected to continue into tomorrow.
All gages are currently operational. Contact with the National Weather Service and the US Army Corps of Engineers is ongoing.
