PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (FL) Hurricane Dorian Response

Summary: CFWSC staff in Florida have begun storm tide sensor and rapid deployment gage retrievals along the coast as Hurricane Dorian passes NE Florida towards Georgia.

Florida received a FEMA Mission Assignment on Wednesday Aug 31 to deploy storm tide sensors and Rapid Deployment Gages (RDG) along the Florida coast. Staff deployed 157 storm tide sensors and 8 RDGS. The deployments were completed on August 31. Staff began retrieval of Storm-tide sensors today, Sep. 4. Today 6 staff are in the field on the west coast of Florida retrieving sensors. 1 staff member is co-locating with Florida Department of Emergency Management and FEMA in Tallahassee to advise on potential high water mark campaign.
