Summary: Minor flooding (NWS terminology) in north central Ohio
Over the weekend, 3 to 4 inches of rain had fallen over northern and north central Ohio causing some streams to have minor flooding (NWS terminology). Thus far, smaller watersheds in north central Ohio have been affected the most.
No streamgages are experiencing peaks of record and no gages have been adversely impacted.
Two crews have been sent out to measure higher flows. One crew was sent to measure the Mill Creek, Kokosing River and Sandusky River, while another crew was sent to measure high flows at Chippewa Creek and the Black River basin near Cleveland, Ohio.
We anticipate that this will be a long, drawn out event throughout the week which will give us a good opportunity to make high flow measurements and fill in rating gaps where needed.
Personnel from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Ohio Water Development Authority and the National Weather Service have been contacted. High flow measurements will be entered in NWSChat.
