Summary: Major flooding across central and northeastern Oklahoma continues.
Another 4 inches of rain fell in Northern Oklahoma yesterday. Precipitation totals from Monday night to today ranged from 5 to 11 inches and more is predicted. There are currently 32 gages above flood stage. Six gages are above major flood stage. We are currently working with the Corps of Engineers to measure inflows and outflows of several reservoirs.
The Arkansas, Cimarron, and North Canadian rivers are currently in flood stages.
No streamgages have been damaged or destroyed yet. There have been 5 peaks of record at long-term streamgages. Rating extensions have been completed at four stations.
Currently 7 USGS crews (14 individuals) are in the process of conducting flood measurements in Central and Northern Oklahoma.
