Summary: Minor and isolated Moderate flooding in northern New York.
Minor flooding is occurring in northern New York as a result of 1-2 inches of rain and snowmelt in the Adirondack Mtns. Several USGS streamgages are at NWS Minor Flood stage with Schroon River forecast to reach Moderate Flood stage this afternoon thru Tuesday. Affected basins include Schroon R, Sacandaga R, E Br Ausable R, West Canada Cr, and Upper Hudson R. Except for Schroon R, streamflows are forecast to decrease at most locations by Sunday morning. A total of 2 USGS crews (4 staff members) from the Troy, NY and Potsdam, NY offices are making several high-flow discharge measurements today for rating calibration. This is the last Project Alert for this high-flow event.
