PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (AR) North Central and Central Arkansas Rainfall

Date: Fri, 19 Apr 2019 11:14:04 EDT

Summary: Thursday morning 4.5 inch rainfall broke April 18th rainfall record set in 1911 in Little Rock causing temporary shutdown of Interstate 30.

Heavy rain in North Central and Central Arkansas caused school shutdowns and Interstate 30 shutdown in the Benton Arkansas area.

5 USGS field crews were deployed collecting streamflow measurements and sampling high flow event stations at 11 stations around Central to Western Arkansas.

We continue to stay in contact with both Federal and State partners so we can help address their needs.
