Summary: Additional rainfall on Thursday in central Mississippi threatens to push streams already at flood stage even higher
Severe weather passed through Mississippi on Thursday and threatened to push many rivers in the State that were already at or near flood stage to even higher stages.
USGS field crews are out collecting streamflow measurements to verify stage-discharge ratings.
USGS staff are on daily calls with the Weather Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Pearl River Water Supply District to discuss stream data for the Pearl River and the planned operation of the structure of the Ross Barnett Reservoir.
