Summary: Minor to major flooding from snowmelt-runoff continues in eastern Montana.
Gage-heights at three (3) U.S. Geological Survey streamgages on the Milk River and Missouri River tributaries in eastern Montana are exceeding National Weather Service (NWS) minor to major flood stages. Lowland snowmelt-runoff is diminished but continues to cause some the flooding. NWS warnings state local flooding from ice-jams also continue.
Three crews were attempting repairs at streamgages today and completing recession measurements. High-flow and recession measurements will resume Monday April 1 (no fooling). Cooler temperatures and higher-elevation snow accumulation are expected in parts of the region.
Cooperators, stakeholders, and the general public are being kept informed by multiple methods including NWSChat, telephone conversations, e-mail, and social media.
