Summary: USGS CFWSC staff respond to Hurricane Michael Storm Surge

USGS staff (9 hydrographers) from Tallahassee are in the field today making discharge measurements, repairing one site, and recovering storm surge sensors along the coast. Moderate flooding is occurring at one station (Econfina near Bennett, FL) and near flooding is occurring at 9 stations in the affected area. Staff from Orlando recovered 10 storm surge sensors on the Big Bend coast on Oct 11 and will continue recovery operations on Oct 13. A High Water Mark campaign will begin in earnest on Oct. 13 from Panama City to St. Marks Florida.
