PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (KS) Continued flooding throughout central and eastern Kansas

Summary: Continued flooding is occurring throughout central and eastern Kansas as a result of heavy rain that fell from October 6 through 10.

Flooding is continuing at 19 gaging locations throughout central and eastern Kansas. Additional rainfall is occurring today with expected accumulation of 1/2" or less for today's rainfall and is not expected to have a major impact on flood conditions. Most streams have crested, stage is still rising at locations in the lower Smoky Hill, middle Arkansas, lower Neosho, and lower Marais Des Cygnes river basins. Nine crews are deployed throughout the state making high flow discharge measurements and collecting samples. All streamgages are providing accurate data.
