PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (VA) USGS VA-WV WSC Response to Florence

Summary: The VA-WV WSC has deployed additional staff to collect water quality samples.
As the Florence-induced flood waters move downstream, the Richmond Field Office has deployed 12 staff to collect water quality samples and repair three damaged water quality monitoring stations. The sampling efforts are focused on nine watersheds within the Shenandoah, Rappahannock, York, and James Basins.
All staff are planning to return back to Richmond at the end of the day.
This will be the final alert from the VA-WV WSC for the Florence response.
