PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (TX) Flooding in North Texas

Summary: Flooding continues in North Texas

Over the past 7 days Northeast Texas has received 5 to 8 inches of rainfall, with 2 to 3 inches falling overnight. Rivers in the Sulphur, Cypress, Sabine, and Upper Trinity River basins are rising with several (about 15) in minor to moderate NWS flood categories.

Some urban sites in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex experienced rapid rises overnight with at least 2 exceeding their stage-discharge ratings. Four two-person crews are making measurements and verifying gage operations, while one crew is flagging high-water marks for possible indirect measurements at 2 sites.

All gages are operational as of this time.
