Summary: Moderate category flooding continues in portions of Kentucky.
Moderate category flood conditions continue on the Ohio and Green Rivers. One location on the Ohio River (Cannelton Lock and Dam) has exceeded major flood category.
The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Water Science Center, Louisville and Murray offices, have 4 crews (10 people) out today making discharge measurements on the Ohio and Green Rivers. A special velocity sensor is also being installed today at the Ohio River Smithland Lock and Dam structure to aid the National Weather Service Ohio River Forecast Center.
As of this alert, 44 special measurements of discharge have been made during this event. No gages are currently down within the impacted area but the Ohio River at Evansville, IN gage has had intermittent problems throughout the event. Contact with the National Weather Service, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and local cooperators are ongoing.
