PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IN) Ongoing major category floods in Indiana

Summary: Major category flooding continues in northern Indiana.

Major category flood conditions continue in the Kankakee, Iroquois, and Tippecanoe River Basins. At least 4 gages have exceeded peak of record and were measured by USGS crews. The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Water Science Center, Indianapolis office, has 5 crews (10 people) out today making discharge measurements throughout the impacted river basins. As of this alert, 32 measurements of discharge had been made during this event. No gages are currently down within the impacted area. Contact with the National Weather Service, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and local cooperators is ongoing.
