Summary: Widespread flooding in New Hampshire
Widespread flooding is occurring in New Hampshire as a result of 2-4 inches of rain during the past 24 hours. Currently four USGS streamgages have reached the NWS minor flood category and six additional streamgages are forecast to reach minor to moderate flooding in the Merrimack and Saco River Basins. Streamflows at many USGS streamgages are near peak or decreasing this morning, although several streams will remain near NWS flood stage through Tuesday (October 31).
A total of five USGS crews (9 staff members) from the New Hampshire Office have been deployed today for rating calibration. Additional follow-up discharge measurements are planned for tomorrow (October 31). The approximate annual exceedence probability is 0.2 (<5-yr flood). All equipment is operating.
