PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IL) Flooding in Chicago, IL

Summary: Heavy rainfall in Chicago over last 24 hours

A persistent but narrow band of storms dropped over 7" of rain in Chicago and surrounding suburbs over the last 24 hours.

Currently, we have 9 gages in Chicago at or above floodstage. Two USGS crews have been deployed this morning (and likely more as the day goes on) making discharge measurements and verifying peaks. All streamgages are currently working. No RDG's are needed.

We are communicating with the NWS, the Corps, and other local partners and responding to their needs.
