Tropical Storm Harvey continued to bring heavy rains to southwest Louisiana as it made it's way on shore early this morning. Rainfall totals in excess of 20" were recorded in the hardest hit areas. Widespread flooding has prompted evacuations, rescue operations, and school closures across the coastal region and especially in the city of Lake Charles.
Currently there are three crews out making high flow measurements and one crew deployed for gage repairs. Crews are primarily focusing on the Calcasieu and Vermilion rivers. As of yesterday, 7 measurements have been made, 1 gage repaired, and 1 gage installed at the request of cooperators.
LMG staff continues to communicate with the National Weather Service and other cooperators to address any specific needs.
