PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (AR) Arkansas Flooding

Date: Wed, 03 May 2017 14:54:45 EDT

Summary: Flooding of the White, Black and Arkansas Rivers.

The focus of the flood event has shifted onto the larger rivers in Arkansas. The flow of the tributaries of these rivers are on the decline.

Black River at Pocahontas is experiencing record peaks and the majority of the town has been evacuated due to flood waters exceeding the levee system around the town.

Two USGS crews are measuring Black River and Arkansas River in the Northeastern part of the state today. We will continue to follow the Black, Arkansas and the White Rivers as the crest moves downstream.
