PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) Flooding expected for CA this week as ARs bring more rain

Summary: Flooding is expected this week as multiple atmospheric rivers bring rainfall and snow to parts of California.

A series of warm storm systems are expected to bring precipitation to California over the next two weeks. Today, much of northern California will experience light to moderate rainfall. Counties in central and northern California are under flood warning or flash flood watch. Many northern California rivers are above flood or monitor stage, with some peak flows expected today and again on Thursday or Friday.

The California Water Science Center (CAWSC) has 11 crews responding to this event today from the following service areas: Eureka, CA (1); Redding, CA (1); Ukiah, CA (1); Truckee (1); Santa Cruz, CA (4); and Santa Maria (3). Crews are performing high-water measurements and are prepared to deploy tomorrow also.
